All Kinds Of Busy

So, more camping, more work, and another photo shoot, this time for the awesome couple that has been there from the beginning, who are so much fun. I got to do a maternity shoot for them, and practise with studio lighting, and I am so thrilled with the sample images I've done up so far. I haven't had any time to sort my most recent camping trip photo's and am getting behind in my personal stuff... but on that note I am thinking of starting a Rocky Mountains Journal Blog, to post my trip photo's in, and to give suggestions of hikes, sights, touristy things, campgrounds, food, etc.... Maybe one day I'll have time to do that.
But here are my samples for Keri and Garry's Maternity shoot... can't wait to see the new baby girl! Congratulations you two! The babies room is the ultimate in amazing-ness! I totally love it!

I just had another wedding with Lauri and Mode LaVan. Such a fun couple. We had a lot of fun with everyone and the ceremony was beautiful. My very first Catholic ceremony... so sing-songy. :)
Now I've taken this coming week off from the farm (I'm pretty much done there except to help with days off) and am going to get these last two weddings done if I can, plsu the maternity shoot, plus clean my house and plan for the next two weddings next weekend (I have one with Lauri on Friday and then I'm heading to Edson to shoot a wedding for the lovely Jenna) and then all my family is meeting up in northern Banff NAtional PArk to go camping for most of the following week.... and then I start school and REALLY get busy!
Can't wait to put up samples from these most recent weddings.....

July Family

Well it's been a pretty good month so far... July 4th I was second-shooter at a wedding for Mode LaVan, with Amy as the principal. They were a really fun couple and even though we got a little rained on we had a lot of fun and I'm working on the images now... didn't size any to put up though. Will soon. After shooting that wedding my husband and I headed out that evening to my grandma's old place, The Westland, for her memorial/family get-together. It was good to see everyone, and I had fun experimenting with my new camera and 50mm lens.

My cousins little girl, Scotia.
Two of my uncles...
Some of my cousins...

It was awesome to hang out with family and reconnect. We all had a good time. It was kinda weird being out at the Westland without seeing my grandma there, sitting in a chair, talking with whoever was nearby. But a bunch of family was all together, and she would have liked that.

Next I'll post about our camping trip :)

The New Gear

I am super excited and thrilled to finally have all my own gear. Before I had to borrow my dad's Canon 20D or my aunts Nikon something to do photoshoots with. Now I have my very own Canon 50D, with two lenses and an extra battery. This gives me all the core components to add to the accessories I already had, like my abundance of CF memory, my Gorillapod, my tripod, my dad's flash that I have the use of, as well as the two point and shoots we have, our Fuji S9000 and our Nikon CoolPix S510, which are excellent for macro's and as backups. This is very exciting for me. I am thrilled to have a 50mm f/1.8 lens as one of my lens and can't wait to take more pictures with it...
Here is one of the pictures I snapped off with my new camera with the 50mm lens:

I am looking at this summer fly by and am wondering where all the time has gone... June seemed to come and go in a blink. And the rest of summer is bound to fly by with my schedule. August is especially busy with shoots, as well as hopefully another trip to the mountains (we went not that long ago as sort of a belated anniversary trip and I hope to get a few pictures up at some point) just before I start school. I start July off with a wedding shoot, we're hoping to do a family camping trip with my parents and brother and his wife, and I'm keeping rather busy at the farm as well. We also have some awesome friends coming out for a visit which is exciting. But I may be able to squeeze in another shoot in July if someone wants to book soon. August is basically full it seems, and September already has two shoots, plus I begin school. I can't wait to start school and finally be on the road to getting what I want.

Anyhow, I'm just rambling now. I was just really excited about my new camera and lenses. All the better to serve you with. :D
